GoPro Bells And Whistles

We know that saying which action camera is the best is a subjective matter. This never ending topic came up yesterday after someone asked which is the best Gopro action camera. Later this year, the newest version, GoPro Hero 13 is going to be released.

I shared that I am still using a GoPro Hero 4, which is a ten year old version. But for the things that I do with my camera, kayaking, motorcycle rides, underwater photography, the camera is flawless. Which is why I have four of them to record different angles of photos or video.

Another reason I haven't upgraded is due to the non-existent customer service by GoPro, and the cascade of bugs and glitches with the newer models. So why would I spend money in a new glitchy product when I have a trouble-free old camera that still provides reliable service?

I feel sorry for the new users buying the latest GoPro bells and whistles. They have no idea the problems they are getting into.

For the record, all these images were taken with a GoPro Hero 4.

Classic Vintage - Antique Reborn - Throwback

The top picture illustrates an old vintage Kawasaki Z1 - 900 I purchased for measly 500 dollars in 1984. The bike, or whatever was left of it, was a mess.

All it took to complete this restoration was a very accommodating and understanding spouse; lots of research to find the parts needed (no internet available at the time) and hands on experience to create something worthwhile.

Six months later, the bike was completed. It was rebuilt from the ground up literally in the middle of my living room. From the engine nuts and bolts, to the process of painting the body of the entire bike, including the basecoat to the finishing touches inside my living room.

In six months, the vintage motorcycle was completed and in excellent running condition.

The next to last picture is of my sister sitting on the bike in front of our house in Brooklyn. The last picture was the day I was ready to go on my way to Phoenix Arizona, riding cross-country from Brooklyn, NY. It only took me six days to ride this Kawasaki Z1-900 from Brooklyn, NY to Phoenix, AZ.

50 Aniversario - Escuela Superior - Clase Graduanda 1974

Este pasado 8 de junio de 2024 tuve la oportunidad de participar en el 50 Aniversario de la Clase Graduanda del 1974  de la Escuela Superior Jose de Diego de Mayaguez, PR. El pasado 15 de junio del 2024 fue el Aniversario #50 de la Escuela Superior Eugenio Maria de Hostos de Mayaguez. Este tipo de celebracion solo se da una sola vez en la vida.

Las dos actividades se celebraron en el Club de Ofinistas en Mayaguez, en el Barrio Algarrobos. Tuve la oportunidad de compartir con amigos que no veia desde el 1973/1974. Las dos actividades fueron un completo exito. Me alegro mucho el haber sido parte de esta gran celebracion con mis antiguos compañeros de escuela.  

Algunas personas dicen que ha pasado mucho tiempo, que 50 años es toda una vida. Pero algo bien importante es que la amistad se mantiene a pesar de la distancia. Como dice el refran, las amistades enriquecen tu vida y mejoran tu salud.
