Motorcycle E-ZPass Update

This morning I contacted the people at customer service of E-ZPass to update my credit card information, and to confirm my motorcycle E-ZPass transponder was still active. It's been a while since the transponder was last used.

The E-ZPass update took less than 10 minutes to complete. I was informed to expect a new transponder by mail in less than 7 days, and in the meantime to continue using the old one since it has been activated. That means that I am ready to travel to Maryland this coming weekend to attend the Classic Motorcycle Day event. Woo Hoo Yeah !!!!

Today Is My 70th Birthday

So, this is 70. Like most folks turning 70, I never expected I would be here. I can't believe how fast life goes by. Seventy years, it literally went by in a blink.

I am celebrating my 70th birthday without a party, I honored the occasion with a scenic day trip to NYC, by focusing on an intimate, quiet dining experience with myself in New York doing things that I truly enjoy.

Later today, I would be engaging in my favorite hobby at the garage with the motorcycles. To me, the little things are the ones that matter, like spending the afternoon changing oil and filter on my motorcycle and making sure the Ninja is ready for the upcoming riding season. I also went out on a shopping spree for colorful and vibrant clothing; the color clothing that enhance my personal style.

My 70th birthday is a milestone worthy of a quiet celebration, focusing on gratitude, family and my small circle of friends. This coming week I would be reflecting on 70 years of life and focusing on what truly matters. Happy birthday to me. 😀

Let The Good Times Roll

Finally got the paperwork out of the way and renewed my motorcycle registration and insurance documents. I am officially ready for the riding season.

Not sure how other states handle their vehicle paperwork, but when it comes to vehicle and insurance renewal here in Pennsylvania, everything can be handled online. At the end of the transaction, you simply print your credentials, and you are done. 

I am looking forward to this year riding season. Let the good times roll !!!!

Subzero Wind Chills (minus 20 degrees) For the Next 48 Hours In Philly

Another nightmare weekend, extreme cold and freezing temperatures the next two days. We are expecting minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Subzero wind chills and a possibility of more snow for the Philadelphia area.

I need the snow from the last snowstorm a few weeks ago to melt down soon. Hopefully, after next Tuesday, temperatures are expected to become milder with rainy conditions. Can't wait to take my motorcycle out for a spin.

¿Quien es el Moron Que Sugirio Prohibir Conducir A Personas de 70 años en Puerto Rico?

Entre ayer y hoy, he leido dos personas en Facebook escribir sobre una ley que han sugerido en Pe-Erre, que prohibiria conducir a personas de 70 años. 

En abril yo cumplire mis 70 primaveras. Ahora que estoy deseando finalmente volver a la isla, y estoy en el proceso de regresar despues de 43 años viviendo en Estados Unidos, ¿como rayos personas de mi edad vamos a movernos de un lado a otro si en Pe-Erre no hay transportacion publica tan eficiente como en Estados Unidos? 

¿Estos morones no saben que hay personas de 70 años que todavia trabajan y necesitan su propia transportacion? ¿Quien es el anormal que quiere proponer esa ley? ¿Y porque el pueblo no se esta mobilizando para protestar esa estupida ley? Solo a un imbecil se le ocurre semejante disparate.

No Tripods Allowed! Enter The Platypod ...

I would not be surprised if people are sick and tired of listening to me, talking about Platypod. The fact is that I have not used or carried a tripod to take pics since 2024; so no more worries about the tripod police telling me that tripods are not allowed. 

Platypod Ultra and Platypod eXtreme have been quite reliable pieces of gear used for my photography or vlogging needs. Platypod is a compact alternative to bulkier and heavier tripods, especially for low angle and travel photography. It works great when used on my DSLR, my GoPro action camera, and my cellphone. In my personal opinion, Platypod Rules. 

It Was A Nightmare

It's been a while since I had a nightmare. It is 2:40 am, and I just forced myself to wake up from this dream, now I can't sleep.

One of the top things on my bucket list is to ride a motorcycle in Europe. 

On this particular nightmare, I am gathered with a group of people somewhere in a strange European country. Everyone around me is speaking with a British accent.

In the meantime, I am worried and began talking out loud that we needed to hurry up and get moving soon in order for me to get out of there before sunset. In the nightmare, I am not sure where we are, and where are we headed. I am also concerned because I am riding a scooter that I've never ridden before, and don't know how to turn the lights on. 

All of a sudden, without any warning, everyone gets in a bus, and I am left outside. The bus starts moving and I had to grab a pole to avoid being stranded on the road. All our scooters are secured on a trailer using straps, and attached to the bus. While the bus is running down the road, I am standing on the bus rear fender holding for dear life.

After arriving to the next destination, I kept reminding everyone, that soon will get darker and I don't feel comfortable riding a scooter without lights. 

By the time I get out of the building my biggest fear has come true. It's already pitch dark, and is also raining. And to make things worse, everyone is gone. I am alone with the scooter without lights, standing in the parking lot without a rainsuit. I have no idea where am I, or where I am headed next. 

I did the most logical thing I could think of, I forced myself to wake up.  

Classic Vintage - Antique Reborn - Throwback

The top picture illustrates an old vintage Kawasaki Z1 - 900 I purchased for measly 500 dollars in 1984. The bike, or whatever was left of it, was a mess.

All it took to complete this restoration was a very accommodating and understanding spouse; lots of research to find the parts needed (no internet available at the time) and hands on experience to create something worthwhile.

Six months later, the bike was completed. It was rebuilt from the ground up literally in the middle of my living room. From the engine nuts and bolts, to the process of painting the body of the entire bike, including the basecoat to the finishing touches inside my living room.

In six months, the vintage motorcycle was completed and in excellent running condition.

The next to last picture is of my sister sitting on the bike in front of our house in Brooklyn. The last picture was the day I was ready to go on my way to Phoenix Arizona, riding cross-country from Brooklyn, NY. It only took me six days to ride this Kawasaki Z1-900 from Brooklyn, NY to Phoenix, AZ.
