You've Just Been Erased! Menos Perros, Menos Pulgas

Me alegro haberla borrado, menos perros menos pulgas.

I Am Addicted Using Bitmoji

I have a confession to make. I am addicted to Bitmoji, the comic character creator app. This application lets you personalize you own comic strip or avatar. In my opinion, Bitmojis are a Bitstrip alternative.

In the early 2010's I used Facebook Bitstrips all the time, especially to create cartoon strips for my online blog. Bitstrips was an avatar generator connected to Facebook. Bitsprips are no longer available, but recently I jumped on the Bitmoji bandwagon and despite the panel scenarios limitations, they are a lot of fun to create comic strips using my avatar.

With Bitmoji, the sky is the limit. I can customize/personalize my avatar appearance according to my moods or current activity, and dress my avatar in fashionable, branded clothing using various scenarios. I am hooked; I am enjoying Bitmojis so much that I can't stop using this app.

Social Media Detox

I've decided to minimize my online presence in social media. I began by deleting my 14 year old Twitter account earlier last month. Today, my Instagram was temporarily disabled.

It is logical that my FB photography page should be removed next. FB pages aren't easy to manage as they were five years ago. And since I am not into it to sell my images, only to share my stuff, I don't see the point of keeping the page.

Instagram and FB pages are becoming a headache; too many trolls, fake accounts promoting stuff and scamming people. Keyboard warriors roam the internet to fight and argue over everything. They are empowered by the anonymity of the internet to deceive, manipulate and vilify others. Allowing them to say things they might not say face to face.

So to regain my sanity, I am deleting a big chunk of my social media footprint. I am signing off from those accounts for good, and taking a temporary social media detox.

The Rise Of Social Media Experts

Have you noticed how many online social media experts are out there? I think in Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are where you find the most.

Nowadays is difficult to find anyone who is not on social media. In my opinion, the conspiracist theorists and purveyors of misinformation have given social media a bad name. They have made it harder for the true experts to spread correct information.
