A jury will consider how much the former
president should pay her in monetary damages, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
A federal judge has ruled that former President
Donald Trump is liable for making defamatory statements against writer E. Jean
Carroll in 2019, after she went public with claims that he r*ped her decades
earlier.
The ruling comes four months after a jury found that Trump is liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll in a separate civil lawsuit she filed against him. The panel in the case determined she was sexually abused and Trump should pay her $5 million in damages.
