The United States On The Brink Of Civil War

Just a day or two ago, I had planned to write about the NRA and the private militia groups. They spent decades claiming they needed guns in case government forces turned against its citizens.

Their main argument always has been that the Second Amendment was created to give citizens the opportunity to fight back against a tyrannical federal government. I am sure some of you recall this argument right?

Just last May, some of these heavily armed right-wing militias gathered at Michigan Capitol, to protest stay at home orders. I am sure you remember the images from some of those confrontations. These same folks are now watching government forces assaulting citizens in Portland, and surprisingly, these right-wing militias who always complained about tyrannical federal government, are now rooting for the government. As long as the ones being beaten are black, brown, Portland Wall of Moms and Wall of Vets.

Methinks things are going to turn ugly, quickly.

Today, about 500 hundred of a all-black armed militia, NFAC “Not Fucking Around Coalition", marched through Louisville, Kentucky, to protest police brutality. Members of the "Three Percenter” far-right militia group also gathered their members in the same location. Both groups support gun rights and opposition to government “tyranny.”

Two heavily armed opposing militia groups, facing each other in the streets of our cities. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Tired of winning yet?

  1. This is all true.

Part of what makes these "self aimed" militias choose to occupy a park in Oregon, face the FBI at the Clive Bundy ranch, "protest" at the VA statehouse on MLK Jr. Day and march into the MI statehouse to shout in cops' faces over a wearing a mask, is getting their "marching orders" from right wing media.

And what else drives their target choices? Well, we can guess racism, or a desire for authortarian (sic) rule, or a fear of going up against a real target (ie, paramilitary Border Patrol agents in Portland OR). If its the latter, then they have a bully mindset, and it makes us wonder what future targets of their's we can predict (ie, always someone weaker). If its the former, then sadly we can also predict their next response when the cameras are off and no one is looking. We've had too many "Karens" demanding their rights lately.

    1. It is a mystery to me why these individuals don't join the armed forces. There they will have access to all the firearms available to them, become a Navy Seal or Special Forces.
