Lifeguard Observation Tower

I Went to Boqueron Beach in the town of Cabo Rojo yesterday, to photograph the golden hour. Sunsets take place at the end of the day.

This is my first time ever shooting this location. Surprisingly, the beach was completely deserted. Most locals don't visit the beach during this time, despite the tropical climate and warm water temperatures. The average temperature in Dec and Jan, is between 70 and 83 degrees Fahrenheit.

Instead of taking the usual sunset image, I decided to incorporate a lifeguard observation tower into it. Enjoy!

Cravings

Earlier today I was invited by some of my high school classmates, to have brunch at Antojos Restaurant in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. Antojos in Spanish means "cravings".

The high school class president decided to throw an impromptu get-together at this very popular outdoor restaurant to brainstorm about an upcoming Valentine's dance. It's not even Christmas yet, and they are already discussing next year's events.

It was a very productive get-together, while enjoying a fabulous meal. Good food, good friends, good times. You can check out their interactive digital menu by searching for Antojos Restaurant in your favorite browser. Enjoy! 😀

Flamboyan - Royal Poinciana Photo Album

I have to admit, this is the first time that I've been actively searching for a particular tree to photograph.

Fortunately, I didn't have to drive too far. This selfie picture with the tiny mini Flamboyan tree in the background is located outside my friend Triumph motorcycle repair shop near Combate Beach. Amazingly, the other images of Flamboyan trees are located not far from each other.

Some images of  Flamboyan trees are located in Las Marias, Isabela, Mayaguez and Cabo Rojo.

Hopefully I can redirect my friends to this post if they are interested seeing some of the Flamboyan-Royal Poinciana trees I was able to photograph during this trip. Enjoy!

Let It Rain

In my opinion, it can only get better from this point on. Got the GoPro action camera night settings down pat.

Despite the threat of a rainstorm and flash floods this afternoon, I went out on my Jeep Cherokee to try to capture a picture or two during the day using the GoPro car headrest mount.

The top picture is the best of the bunch of images taken today while driving on Puerto Rico Highway 100 in Cabo Rojo, PR, before the flood gates opened and a sudden downpour came down.

Enjoy!

Underwater Photography

Earlier this year I purchased a Telesin 6" dome port for my GoPro action camera. It is the best investment I've made in terms of underwater GoPro accessories and gear. It is a great option for anyone looking to take 50/50, over under, half underwater half above pictures. I was hoping to put it to the test in the Bahamas this past summer, but went to Puerto Rico instead.

The GoPro dome port surpassed all my expectations. And despite a few glitches here and there, passed the test with flying colors. Here is a sample of some of my first underwater photos ever. Images were taken at two different locations, Buye Beach in Cabo Rojo, and Condado Beach (Playita del Condado) in San Juan.
